During Max's first hour of life

People love Max--he gets attention and has favor wherever he goes. He is always singing, dancing, and showing off some newly acquired skill. He's an extrovert and strikes up conversations with just about everyone. Last night, he had a Hispanic couple at the park laughing because he was saying "Hola!" to their little boy--right up close, in his face. He has a real gift verbally, and I just know he's going to come back from Mozambique knowing more Portuguese than the rest of us (sigh.) He is strong-in body, mind, and will, but he is such a little teddy bear too.
Max is athletic and competitive--he's the type of kid that will be good at any sport he tries. We sometimes joke that we had to go outside of the gene pool to get a football player :) The other day, we watched Blindside together as a family and Max was hilarious. During the plays, he was jumping up and down, saying "No! No! No! I said No!! What happened?! Oh no! The red team fell down again." To see his little diapered body jumping up and down so passionately with arms flying everywhere was so much fun--we may have to start watching football :)
We think of Max's birth momma today and we thank her for entrusting us with this sweet gift--our son. Fun fact: Max's birth mom went into labor lat at night at a baseball game. Max we adore you sweetie. Our family wouldn't be the same without you. Watching you grow is so fun, that it's not even hard to kiss those baby days goodbye. You were born for this big boy stuff and we love you with all of our hearts.
