Hello friends and family! We love and miss you guys...but I must say we are having an incredible time here in Pemba, Mozambique. The sky and the ocean are so beautiful here. The people that surround us are simply amazing and we are thoroughly enjoying every moment. From 8am-1pm four days a week we are in class, and Zach and I switch off watching the boys, so that we both get to focus our attention completely. We live in a house with a couple in one room, our family in one room, and a family of 5 in the other room. Everyone here is really great and our kids are getting a lot of love. The boys are doing great...eating their beans and rice and playing in the dirt. You would not believe how dirty they are by the end of the day! There are over 200 students here and there are 155 children (without parents) that live on the base. On Sundays I get to go give medications to the children in the morning and in the evening. They love their vitamins and try to trick me into thinking I didn't give them one :) Hearing the boys say all of the greetings in Portuguese and Makua is really cute. The other kids in our 900 sq. foot home are 5, 2.5, and 10 months, so our house is a lot of fun. We've listened to some incredible speakers so far. What an honor it is to sit under Rolland and Heidi Baker and so many other world changers. It's like one part mission trip, one part church camp. When Zach is in a meeting, I'll take the boys up to play with the babies in the baby house. They are so adorable! It is great to be learning and growing, but also to have so many opportunities to serve. Our house is very close to the medical clinic and Iris just recieved permission to build a hospital on the base as well. I am so impressed by all of the things they are doing here in Mozambique. It is very hard to get to the internet cafe and the service is on and off, so my posts may be more infrequent than I was planning. I can't wait to tell you more about it when we get back though. I hope you all are well. We love you!
Love from all of us,
Kate
